Southlake Health is transforming into a Distributed Health Network, which includes a redeveloped Davis Drive campus in Newmarket. This will allow Southlake to meet the needs of a growing and aging population, improve experiences for patients and staff, and bring care even closer to home.
On April 27, the Province of Ontario announced its support for Southlake’s Distributed Health Network vision, along with a $10 million provincial investment to support planning for the redevelopment of the Davis Drive campus and the construction of a second acute care hospital in East Gwillimbury. This milestone marked a major step forward in transforming healthcare across northern York Region and southern Simcoe County.
The redevelopment of Davis Drive will help modernize and expand Southlake’s existing hospital campus to better meet the needs of one of the fastest growing and aging regions in Ontario. As the anchor site of Southlake’s Distributed Health Network, Davis Drive will continue to play a critical role in delivering leading edge care, close to home.
Future redevelopment will support more modern models of care, improved patient and caregiver experiences, enhanced capacity, and stronger connections across hospital, community, and digital services.
As this work moves forward, Southlake Health will continue working closely with provincial and municipal partners, clinicians, staff, patients, and communities to help shape the future of care delivery for generations to come.
